The Katyń Memorial in Jersey City is a powerful and somber monument honoring the thousands of Polish officers, soldiers, and civilians murdered by Soviet forces in 1940 during the Katyń massacre. The striking bronze statue, created by Polish-American sculptor Andrzej Pitynski, depicts a bound and gagged Polish soldier impaled by a bayonet.
